Mike Willis, a Brooklyn native, founded one of New York’s most popular gospel groups "Mike Willis & The Called" in fall 2008. Through God's in merited favor, they quickly rose to the top of the list of trending sounds within the tri-state area. Over the years they've opened for and shared the stage with some of gospels greatest such as JJ Hairtston and Youthful Praise, Mali Music, Tye Tribbett, Ricky Dillard & Tasha Cobbs just to name a few.
Mike Willis & The Called released their debut project titled "Favor Rain" in 2012. The title track was an instant favorite amongst fans. Other popular features include StaybPositive and the anthem, "Move". Mike Willis & The Called was able to record their 2nd Album "Live in Brooklyn". Their latest single "I am" is currently in rotation on nationally syndicated radio stations as well as Internet radio stations.
Mike Willis & The Called' s unique sound introduces a perfect combination of contemporary gospel music and jazz. Their sound attracts a diverse audience inclusive all nationalities and denominations.
