• BIO:
WELCOME BLUES LOVERS! We are the BLUES NOMADS, previously the Don Scott Blues Duo, featuring Don Scott and Rosanne Licciardi. Indeed we are nomads as we play our special brand of blues, swing, funk and and zydeco throughout the US, and Zihuatanejo, Mexico with standing gigs for the past 12 years. With Scott, on guitar, national resonator, rack harmonica and vocals, and Licciardi on three cajons, foot bass and a highhat, we get a full band sound with just two people. And the repertoire includes over 400 songs including 32 originals. Expect some songs of justice.

Scott was inducted into the Minnesota Blues hall of Fame, October 17, 2021 with a medal for Best Performer! A disabled Vietnam Veteran, he has three cassette recordings with his band, the Dust Bowl Blues Band plus 8 solo CD's to his credit, garnering a Minnesota Music award for best blues recording in 1997, an IBC nomination in Memphis for the best blues recording from the Minnesota Blues Society in 2013. In a career spanning over 50 years, he has shared the stage with Lazy Bill Lucas, Mighty Joe Young, Pinetop Perkins and the Legendary Blues Band, James Harmon, Janiva Magness, Rusty Zinn, William Clarke and countless others. He has toured the country and Europe performing in France, Ireland, Amsterdam, Scotland, England and Mexico.

Percussionist, Rosanne Licciardi, is from Rochester, New York where she was classically trained and played piano for 30 years. She played 2nd soprano bugle, competing in a New York state drum corps competition; she danced in the African discotheques in Amsterdam and Montreal. She then promoted African music in her hometown setting up a Soiree Africaine where she put musicians together brought a musical community together. Rhythm was her life. So was travel. She moved to New Orleans in 2010 to soak up the jazz and funk (after 12 visits there) and met Don Scott also hanging out to soak up the jazz and funk, and play his blues. They hit it off and he said one day, "I think you should get a drum." At age 69, she started with a djembe and after various hand drums, she came up with her own unique kit of three cajons, two octo-snares and a flamenco traditional cajon. Add a high hat and a foot cajon pedal, and the duo sounds like a band.
