About Delores Harris (a.k.a Lady Dee)

Delores Harris, also known as Lady Dee is an international performer and recording artist. She began singing at the tender age of 4 in the church choir. She began singing professionally at the age of 15, accompanied by her father and cousin (both deceased) to venues where she was not of legal age to enter alone.

Later as a member of the group Everlife, Lady Dee was signed to and recorded on the eventually defunct record label 20th Century Fox. She continued on to perform and tour with other bands and as a solo artist. Lady Dee served for many years in the field of education as an elementary and middle school principal, where she was known as Dr. Harris. She sang for her students and brought international, national and local recording artists, actors and actresses to also share with and motivate students. These include Trez Songz, Dwele and K’Jon.

In addition to recently singing the National Anthem for The Detroit Pistons and Detroit Tigers, Lady Dee has performed in venues that include TV dance shows The Scene & R.J. Watkins's The New Dance Show, luxury hotels & nightclubs, Cobo Hall, Hart Plaza Summer Festivals, North America International Auto Show, Music Hall, Jazz Café, Bert’s Market place, Casinos-MGM, Greektown, and Motor City. She has traveled to perform in a plethora of cities in the Canadian Provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. During her experiences as an entertainer, she has forged friendships with Stevie Wonder, The Calloway (formerly of Midnight Star), who she performed with recently, the members of Midnight Star as well as notable songwriters and producers. She also has served as the background vocals director and performed with Sheila Raye Charles, daughter of the late, great Ray Charles.Recently, she performed with Grammy Award-winning, legendary Bill Summers during the New Orleans Jazz Festival, in one of the included venues. You may remember him from his Headhunter days with Herbie Hancock. However, he also scored music for various movies such as The Color Purple and the television miniseries Roots with Quincy Jones, as well as Coming to America.

Lady Dee, is a well-rounded entertainer, who also pursues acting as a career. She has acted in several stage plays, tv shows, films and has even participated in workshops held by Robin Givens and Hollywood Stuntwoman, Kathy Jarvis - always ready to grow in the craft. However, her love of and focus on her vocal gift transforms her performances into heartfelt tones and messages enjoyed by all who partake! In August of 2012 she was nominated as Detroit Black Music Awards’ Best Female R&B Vocalist of the Year! She was nominated again in 2014,won and reigned from August 2014-August as Detroit Black Music Awards’ Best Female R&B Vocalist of the Year!
