Since she was a little girl, Holly Jo Samsill has always had a love of two things; rodeo and country music. Growing up in Wickenburg, Arizona, Holly and her family would travel to various rodeos all over the southwest to support her father, PRCA team roper John Samsill. Holly had always loved the rodeo atmosphere, and the tight-knit way of life it brings.
Although she loved rodeo and had started barrel racing as a preteen, there came a time when she knew she had to choose between a career in rodeo or music.
In the end, music had won out.
Holly’s love for traditional country music with artists such as Patsy Cline, George Strait, and Willie Nelson have shaped the way that Holly both sings and writes. She has said that real country is her heart and soul, and that she will always have a genuine sound in her music. She has vowed to combine rodeo and music, and to bring to life the western side of country music.
Holly is currently gaining fans in both the rodeo community and the mainstream country music scene
